We often say that "speed is the variable of success for Hockey Players."


If we had to get more specific with this, we could expand by saying that "the speed of your change of direction is the variable of successful for Hockey Players."


Change of direction, the physical element of "agility", is one of the most essential attributes for hockey players; and, while this should be a primary focus of on-ice skill sessions or power skating sessions - we can structure off-ice training to develop an elite change of direction capacity.


Whether you're a forward trying to become more elusive, a defenceman who wants to be able to shut down anyone, or a goalie that needs to get more explosive in the crease - this video has some of our favourite exercises for developing elite change of direction abilities!
